this is the only time i will stick up for a corolla
Tl;dr, folks want to look for a car for me (mostly because they don't trust me on my motorcycle) and being a grateful son to them, I said, sure, let's go look for a sensible car.
I did not think this would turn into a headache. Mother wants Camry for me, father and I wants Corolla. Sensible, honest and cheap. Nope. Mother thinks Camry #1, quite a lot of people back up the claim that there are far more sensible options. She thinks we're dumb.
I'd rather ride my bike in the rain. Also why I will never trust my mother when it comes to car choices. I love her as a parent, but holy hell...
Edit: I also did state she wanted something that was economical, if that makes any sense.

Tell them you want a boring Ford.
Or a boring Subaru.
Kidding, of course.
(No I'm not)
(Yes I am)

But the Camry is better in pretty much every way... Faster, no CVT on non-hybrid models, slightly roomier...

They did say they were paying for it but at this point, I'm more happy on the bike than this.

I love my 3. My gf loves hers. The corolla is a good car. Not very exciting but it does good on gas and should last with minimal care.

Honda: Last few Hondas we've owned weren't exactly great on fuel consumption/power
Mazda: No clue.

Well if you own the bike, keep the goddamn bike for sure. Though, if they actually footed that bill as well, you are hereby SOL. Your mom is smart: she knows the Camry will never die. All part of her plan to keep you off the bike.

Oh! I have an idea! If you're going to be Toyota'd, why not lobby for a Scion? "Come on mom, it's just a Toyota... for youth!"

... Well I can't reply to that in a civil manner.
May I suggest making lemons into lemonade?
Lobby for an Avalon!
Or, how about a GS 350?
Or, OR, a Toyota Crown?

And handles like a gimbal in microgravity... I'd Corolla given only those two choices, but I'd go Civic/ Accord way sooner.
Of course, Ford has really turned around and if good cheap fun is the name of the game... Fusion.

If you do end up in a Corolla, which is nothing to scoff I recommend you this color:
It also has saddle colored cloth on the inside which is all sorts of cool.

The only problem is the folks arguing over it, since father is the more sensible one while mother... "CAMRY CAMRY CAMRY"
I wouldn't mind a free car, but I am siding with my father on this one.

Since your mother clearly has lockjaw on the Camry, I'd say just give up and let them get you a 4cyl. LE. Drive it for a few years and, if they'll let you, sell it on and enjoy the high resale value.
The "all new!" Camry is the same as the old Camry, but the handling has been...slightly improved. Handling is, incidentally, not as bad as the phrase "handling of a Camry" implies. The 4cyl. is still overworked and screams painfully if you thrash it, and the transmission is a dinosaur (if a reliable one). But unlike other Tiptronic automagics, at least this one won't actually downshift for you.
Interior is slightly improved, less plasticy and high-volume cheap, more like the current Corolla. Center stack and controls are slightly improved as well.
The Camry is what it's always been. A safe, predictable choice. And a boring one.
P.S. As a compromise for getting a Camry, maybe have them get you the SE with the V6 :)

The only problem is, I don't really mind but the father... Like I said with the others, the father thinks the Camry is no longer viable and she kind of sees how big of a huge gap the Corolla and Camry is in Fuel economy.

Oh, there's no doubt which, between the two, is the better car for your situation. You don't need the size of the Camry - which is, after all, supposed to be a family car - and assuming you're paying for gas, your mother would have you spend money you don't have to.
But a family is not like a democracy, and majority doesn't appear to rule.
Oh well, good luck! Just remember that neither is a bad choice.

if that's the case you might need to stand up and make a decision.
"Hey mom I know you want me to have a Camry, but it's not sensible right now... "
honestly I would get a Yaris or a iA with a stick ;)

Elantra GT or Accent hatchbacks.
Roll back a few model years for more economy but get one up-spec'd with satnav, BlueTooth .
